Product Description:
The 8EI8X8HWS10.0600-1 is a servo drive module produced by B&R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series. Within an automation cell, the unit supplies regulated power to a synchronous motor and closes the current loop for precise torque control. It also exchanges position data with a machine controller so multiple machine functions can follow coordinated motion profiles. This combination supports controlled acceleration, constant-speed operation, positioning, and deceleration in automated equipment.
The power section accepts a three-phase mains supply of 3x 200–480 VAC, allowing the drive to operate with a broad range of industrial power systems. This input range can reduce the need for additional voltage-conversion equipment when the module is installed in facilities with different supply levels. Rated continuous output reaches 8.8 Aeff, indicating the RMS current that the drive can deliver continuously to a motor winding under the permitted operating conditions. The integrated hardwired STO safety technology with encoder feedback removes torque-generating energy when activated while retaining feedback for verification. An internal braking resistor dissipates regenerated energy during rapid motor deceleration and helps control voltage on the internal DC bus. The housing supports wall mounting, which places the heat sink in a vertical position and promotes effective cabinet airflow.
The drive uses a one-axis module format, allowing it to control one connected motor from a compact housing. Electrical terminations use a single-row connector, and Connector Set 1 is supplied with the unit for the supported wiring arrangement. The two-row connector style is omitted, reducing the space required around the connection area. No backplane, fieldbus card, or other accessory module is supplied, corresponding to the delivery state of no included plug-in module. The front cover is factory-installed to shield internal electrical parts and connection points during normal handling and operation. The standard module configuration maintains the established electrical interfaces, safety functions, and physical arrangement associated with this part number.
