Product Description:
The 8EI8X8HWS10.0200-1 is a servo drive module developed by B&R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series. Classified in the ACOPOS P3 line, the unit regulates the current and voltage delivered to a single servo motor so that position, speed, and torque follow controller setpoints. By converting three-phase supply power into a pulse-width-modulated output, it serves as the core power stage in pick-and-place cells, packaging lines, and other machinery that requires precise closed-loop motion. It provides the controlled output stage needed for synchronized axis motion in automated equipment.
The drive accepts a three-phase mains range of 3x 200–480 VAC, allowing the same hardware to be used on low- or high-voltage plant sections without rewiring. At rated load, it delivers a continuous armature current of 8.8 Aeff, enough to support medium-frame synchronous or induction servomotors. The delivered hardware is a 1-axis module, and the housing is prepared for wall mounting against the cabinet surface. One motor phase set is served per slot, which suits modular cabinet layouts that assign one drive to one machine axis. Field wiring terminates on a Connector Set 1 single-row header that accepts crimped contacts. Because there is no internal braking resistor, an external resistor bank must be installed when regenerative load energy exceeds the DC-bus absorption capacity.
Functional safety is delivered through hardwired STO safety technology with encoder, which removes torque-producing power while preserving position feedback for restart after a safety event. The base shipment includes no plug-in module, so communication or I/O options are added separately only when needed. This keeps the standard configuration focused on drive control and leaves interface expansion to optional add-on modules. The arrangement also lets the main unit remain compact while still supporting application-specific expansion when required.
