Product Description:
The 8EI8X8HWDS0.0600-1 servo drive is manufactured by B&R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series. Within the ACOPOS P3 product line, it combines power conversion, encoder feedback, and functional safety in a single enclosure. The drive controls two motor axes, allowing coordinated motion without requiring a separate drive module for each connected motor. By converting three-phase mains power into precisely regulated motor current, it supports accurate position, speed, and torque control in packaging, material-handling, and assembly machinery. Integrated feedback processing allows the drive to monitor axis motion and adjust its output as operating conditions change.
The unit accepts a wide input range of 3 × 200–480 VAC, allowing operation with common 230 V and 400 V industrial power systems without a transformer. Each axis provides a continuous output current of 8.8 A RMS under rated thermal conditions. The drive is a two-axis module with two integrated inverter stages, reducing the panel space required for multi-axis control. Functional safety is provided by SafeMOTION, which works with digital encoder feedback to monitor motor speed and position internally. An internal braking resistor dissipates regenerative energy produced while connected motors decelerate. This arrangement allows braking energy to be handled within the drive instead of requiring a separate external resistor assembly. The unit uses the standard module option and includes a fitted front cover that protects against accidental contact.
The enclosure supports wall mounting, allowing direct attachment to the backplate of a control cabinet. Electrical connections use a single-row connector set, which keeps the wiring interface compact and avoids unused terminals from an additional connector row. Power, feedback, and safety connections can therefore be routed within the same cabinet installation while remaining separated according to their functions. No plug-in expansion card is installed, so the drive relies on its integrated control, feedback, and safety capabilities. Its dual-axis arrangement is suited to paired machine movements that require synchronized commands, such as coordinated conveyors, indexing mechanisms, or handling equipment. The front cover remains in place during normal operation to maintain touch protection around the connection area.
