Product Description:
The 8EI4X5MWT10.0600-1 servo drive module is produced by B&R Automation as a member of the 8EI Servo Drives series. Designed for the ACOPOS P3 platform, the unit functions as a multi-axis power stage that energizes brushless servomotors and coordinates their motion in automated machinery. It integrates into decentralized machine cabinets and supplies controlled current to connected axes, enabling precise regulation of speed, torque, and position in packaging, printing, and material-handling lines.
The drive accepts a mains input of three-phase 200–230 VAC or single-phase 110–230 VAC, allowing it to connect to either three-phase power or single-phase feeds without transformers. On the motor side, the module delivers a continuous phase current of 4.5 A RMS, which supports sustained motor torque during normal operation. As a three-axis module, one unit can synchronize three servomotors and reduce the number of drive modules required in a cabinet. Safety is handled by a hardwired STO safety interface with encoder support, which removes motor torque within milliseconds when the safety circuit opens. An internal braking resistor dissipates regenerated energy during rapid deceleration, eliminating the need for an external brake chopper in systems with modest inertia. This arrangement allows returned energy to be converted into heat within the drive instead of remaining on the DC bus.
The housing supports wall mounting and includes a sealed front cover that protects the electronics during installation. A preassembled one-row connector set allows direct wiring of power, feedback, and I/O connections, while the omitted two-row set reduces the required installation space. The drive is supplied without a plug-in module, leaving its expansion interface available for a compatible fieldbus or encoder card when the application requires one. Its standard module option provides the regular feature set intended for the ACOPOS P3 platform. The compact arrangement supports installation in decentralized machine cabinets where several controlled axes must operate from a shared drive assembly.
