Product Description:
The 8EI4X5MWT10.0500-1 servo drive module is produced by B&R Automation for the ACOPOS P3 8EI Servo Drives series. It serves as the power and regulation interface between an automation controller and synchronous motors used in packaging, printing, and material-handling equipment. The module receives real-time motion commands and regulates the electrical energy supplied to the connected motors. Its output stages support coordinated control of motor torque, velocity, and position across automated machine axes.
Within the cabinet, the drive functions as a 3-axis module, allowing one housing to power three motors without separate amplifiers for each axis. Its continuous output current is rated at 4.5 Aeff, indicating the current that the output stage can sustain during normal operation. The input section accepts 3× 200–230 VAC or 1× 110–230 VAC, permitting connection to a compatible three-phase mains source or a single-phase supply. This input flexibility allows the module to operate with the available line arrangement while supplying controlled power to its motor outputs. Installation uses wall mounting, which secures the housing directly to the mounting surface inside the cabinet. The housing is supplied without a front cover, keeping the terminals accessible during wiring and inspection. No plug-in expansion hardware is supplied with the module.
Energy returned by a decelerating motor is dissipated through an integrated internal braking resistor, eliminating the need for an external braking shunt under supported operating conditions. Safety functions are provided by hardwired STO safety technology with encoder feedback. The safe torque off path disables torque-producing output through hardwired circuitry while retaining the encoder connection for position feedback. Motor and feedback conductors terminate on the Connector Set 2 with a two-row header, providing a common connection point for the associated axis wiring. The single-row connector set is omitted, so wiring must be arranged for the installed two-row interface.
