The 8EI4X5MWT10.0000-1 is a servo drive module produced by B&R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series. It belongs to the ACOPOS P3 8EI product family and regulates multiple motor axes in synchronized industrial automation cells. The drive controls motor current to support accurate speed and torque regulation for synchronous or induction motors. Typical applications include machine tools, material-handling gantries, and packaging stations that require coordinated motion. The complete drive unit mounts directly inside a control cabinet and connects to the associated motors, encoders, feedback lines, and power circuits.
The unit is a 3-axis module with a continuous motor current rating of 4.5 Aeff for each axis. Its mains input accepts 3 × 200–230 VAC or 1 × 110–230 VAC, allowing operation from a compatible three-phase plant supply or single-phase utility supply. Installation uses wall mounting, which positions the heat sink for vertical airflow inside the cabinet. Signal connections are provided through Connector Set 1 with single-row headers. The module does not include dual-row Connector Set 2 headers. It is also supplied without a front cover, an internal braking resistor, or a plug-in module, so regenerative energy must be handled by suitable external dissipative hardware when the application requires it.
Functional safety is provided by hardwired STO safety technology with encoder support. The dedicated safety terminals remove motor torque on demand without depending on commands transmitted through a fieldbus network. The electronics use a standard configuration without a module-specific option, so no additional application feature or dedicated I/O module is installed. The fixed configuration provides the interfaces needed for the three controlled axes while keeping auxiliary components outside the drive housing. External braking equipment can be selected according to the regenerative load and connected separately from the module. Cabinet placement should preserve the airflow path around the heat sink and provide adequate clearance for power, motor, feedback, and safety wiring.
