Product Description:
The 8EI4X5MWS10.0600-1 servo drive is manufactured by B&R Automation and belongs to the 8EI Servo Drives series. It is part of the ACOPOS P3 8EI product line and regulates compatible synchronous or asynchronous motors in automated machinery. Integrated current control and voltage conversion allow the unit to provide precise torque and speed commands for motion axes. Safety monitoring is housed within the same enclosure, reducing the number of separate components required in the control cabinet. The compact format also helps conserve panel depth in machinery with limited installation space.
The module accepts a three-phase 200–230 VAC or single-phase 110–230 VAC input and delivers a continuous output current of 4.5 Aeff. Its single-axis design supports one directly connected motor, making the drive suitable for an independently controlled machine axis. The enclosure uses wall-mounting flanges that position the heat sink against the cabinet panel and support effective heat dissipation. Machine safety is provided by hardwired STO safety technology with encoder support. The Safe Torque Off function disables torque-producing power when a valid safety request is received, while the encoder connection supports motor feedback. Power and signal wiring use a single-row connector arrangement that keeps the module width compact and provides organized cable routing inside the cabinet.
Rapid deceleration is supported by an internal braking resistor, which dissipates regenerated energy within the drive during suitable braking cycles. This integrated component can remove the need for a separate external resistor in applications whose regenerative load remains within the drive’s braking capacity. The unit is supplied in its standard configuration without a module-specific option. A sealed front cover protects the accessible connection area, and Connector 2 is not installed. Field wiring is routed through Connector Set 1 with a single-row layout, which carries the required power and signal connections. No plug-in module is included with the drive, leaving the expansion location available when a compatible application-specific add-on is needed. The empty expansion location does not interfere with normal operation of the drive’s integrated motor-control, feedback, braking, and safety functions.
