The 8EI4X5MWS10.0700-1 is a servo drive from the 8EI Servo Drives series manufactured by B&R Automation. As part of the ACOPOS P3 family, it interfaces between a plant’s low-voltage mains and synchronous motors while supplying regulated current. The drive also executes local velocity and position loops, allowing the primary PLC to focus on machine-level coordination.

A continuous output of 4.5 Aeff lets the unit energize mid-frame servomotors without thermal derating. The drive accepts either a 3×200–230 VAC supply or single-phase 110–230 VAC input, giving panels more flexibility when only single-phase service is available. The integrated hardwired STO circuit, verified by an encoder channel, disables torque within milliseconds and reduces the need for external contactors in SIL-rated zones. An internal braking resistor dissipates regenerated energy during rapid deceleration, so most axes do not require an external resistor bank. Mechanical mounting uses wall mounting, which keeps the heat sink vertical and helps preserve cabinet airflow.

This unit is delivered as a 1-axis module for single-axis control in compact machine sections. A front cover shields low-voltage terminals while still allowing service access when opened.
