As part of the ACOPOS P3 8EI servo drive family, it serves as a power electronics stage that regulates three-phase motors in multi-axis machines and packaging cells. It translates controller commands into precise current and voltage profiles so coordinated motion sequences can run accurately across several machine functions. In this role, it forms the drive stage between the motion controller and the connected motors, supplying regulated output for acceleration, speed control, and positioning.
Electrical compatibility comes from its supply range of 3x 200-480 VAC, letting the unit operate on common three-phase mains without tap changes. During continuous operation, the drive delivers 4.5 Aeff, a current suited to low-inertia servomotors that need moderate torque while keeping thermal losses low. Internally, the product is a 3-axis module, so three inverter channels share one housing and DC bus to reduce cabinet space in synchronized applications. Installation uses wall mounting, which places the heat sink against the panel surface to support heat transfer to the enclosure. Functional safety is provided by hardwired STO safety technology with encoder, allowing immediate torque shutdown while preserving encoder-based position monitoring.
Field wiring is arranged through a 2-row connector set, which separates power and signal contacts so motor cables can be disconnected without disturbing feedback lines.
