The 8EI4X5HWT10.0D00-1 is a three-axis servo drive module in the 8EI Servo Drives series from B&R Automation. Designed for multi-motor machinery, it rectifies incoming three-phase power and modulates it into current for three independent motor outputs. It works with ACOPOS P3 motion controllers to execute motion commands while the integrated hard-wired STO channel enables torque shutdown on each axis.
This module accepts 3x 200-480 VAC mains power and converts it through a 5 kHz switching stage for stable pulse-width modulation. Each axis can sustain 4.5 Aeff continuously, which supports a rated shaft power of 2 kW during normal operation. For short acceleration demands, current reserve rises to 12.25 Aeff, allowing momentary mechanical output up to 5 kW before limits reduce the peak. The internal braking resistor absorbs regenerated energy, and the inrush limiter helps protect input devices during line energization.
The housing is rated IP20, so the unit is intended for cabinet mounting while accessible for wiring. A DC-bus capacitance of 470 µF smooths link voltage and supports stable operation on the shared intermediate circuit. The output stage reaches a maximum carrier frequency of 598 Hz, which benefits fast-response axes such as spindles or linear motors. Three encoder ports support EnDat 2.2 feedback over distances up to 100 m, helping preserve accurate position data in distributed machine layouts.
