Product Description:
The 8EI4X5HWS10.0600-1 is a servo drive built by B&R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series. As an ACOPOS P3 8EI servo drive, it controls one electrical axis by converting three-phase supply power into regulated current and voltage. This regulation provides precise torque, speed, and position control for automated machinery. The drive is suitable for applications such as industrial packaging lines, assembly cells, and material-handling equipment where controlled axis movement is required. Its single-axis design allows it to operate as a dedicated motion-control component within a larger automated system.
The module supplies a continuous current of 4.5 Aeff, supporting sustained loads without thermal derating under the stated operating conditions. It accepts a 3 × 200–480 VAC mains supply, allowing operation on either 230 V or 400 V industrial power networks. Integrated hardwired STO safety technology with encoder feedback disconnects motor torque during SIL stop sequences while retaining position information. This safety function can eliminate the need for external contactors in suitable system designs. An internal braking resistor dissipates regenerated energy produced during rapid motor deceleration, helping manage energy returned to the drive. The enclosure supports wall mounting, allowing the heat sink to align with the airflow inside the control cabinet.
This part is configured as a single-axis module, matching its intended role as the controller for one electrical axis. A Connector Set 1 with a one-row layout provides the required power, brake, and encoder terminals while keeping the module height compact. The fitted front cover protects the connection area from incidental contact after the drive has been installed. The unit does not include a plug-in expansion module, so its primary interfaces remain within the base assembly. Its compact connection layout helps conserve space in densely populated control panels while keeping the principal wiring points accessible. Power conversion, braking-energy management, encoder feedback, and safe torque removal are integrated into the same wall-mounted drive assembly, reducing the number of separate components required around the controlled axis.
