The 8EI4X5HWS10.0500-1 is a servo drive module manufactured by B&R Automation and used in the ACOPOS P3 8EI platform within the 8EI Servo Drives series. It acts as the regulated power source and signal processor between a three-phase AC supply and a synchronous motor, producing pulse-width-modulated output while tracking encoder data. By handling both velocity and position loops, the unit supports precise motion sequences in pick-and-place robots, indexing tables, and other industrial automation systems that require repeatable axis control. Encoder feedback is processed in real time so commanded motion can be corrected quickly during acceleration, deceleration, and positioning.

In this version, the drive is supplied as a 1-axis module and can deliver a continuous current of 4.5 Aeff to the connected stator windings. It operates from 3x 200–480 VAC, so the rectifier and inverter can maintain stable output across a wide industrial input range. A built-in internal braking resistor absorbs regenerated energy during rapid deceleration, and the drive uses Hardwired STO safety technology with encoder for safe torque removal. This variant uses a Connector Set 2 two-row header and supports direct wall mounting without additional brackets.
