Product Description:
The 8EI4X5HWS10.0700-1 is a servo drive built by B & R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series within the ACOPOS P3 8EI platform. As a dedicated drive controller, it regulates the current and voltage supplied to a compatible synchronous motor so that position, speed, and torque commands from the machine PLC are executed precisely. The product is a single-axis module intended for cabinet installation in coordinated multi-axis systems that require compact hardware and integrated motion control. Its controller processes motion commands and adjusts motor output continuously to maintain the requested operating state. This arrangement supports automated machinery that relies on accurate axis synchronization and responsive motor control.
The unit operates from a three-phase supply of 3 × 200–480 VAC and delivers a continuous motor current of 4.5 Aeff. An internal braking resistor dissipates excess regenerative energy without requiring an external braking load, which simplifies panel wiring. The housing supports wall mounting, and its aluminum base plate conducts heat directly to the cabinet back panel. Input and output wiring terminates through Connector Set 2 with a two-row layout, providing a high-density connection arrangement for the available signals. The supplied front cover shields the terminals and maintains the standard enclosure depth. These features allow the drive to fit into compact control cabinets while maintaining accessible power, motor, safety, and control connections.
The drive includes a redundant hardwired STO safety interface with encoder support. This circuit allows the controller to remove motor torque through an external SIL-rated safety system when a safe stop is requested. Encoder connectivity supports the feedback path used by the motion system while the hardwired STO circuit provides an independent torque-disable function. The unit is supplied in the standard module configuration without a module-specific option code. It does not include a plug-in expansion card, leaving the installed interface arrangement limited to the connections provided by the base module. The factory-installed cover protects the connection area during normal cabinet operation and helps prevent accidental contact with the terminals.
