Product Description:
The 8EI4X5HWD10.0600-1 is a servo drive module produced by B&R Automation within the 8EI Servo Drives series and is based on the ACOPOS P3 8EI servo drive platform. It functions as a multi-axis controller for electric motors used in industrial automation cells. The module regulates motor torque, speed, and position, allowing connected machine axes to follow coordinated motion commands. Its control architecture is suitable for synchronized equipment such as packaging machinery, material-handling systems, and automated production lines that require accurate movement across multiple axes.
This model is a 2-axis module, so one housing controls two separate motor channels. It draws three-phase power from a 3 × 200–480 VAC supply, allowing operation across a broad range of industrial mains voltages. Each axis can continuously deliver up to 4.5 A RMS to its connected motor without exceeding the drive’s continuous current limit. For machine-level risk reduction, the unit includes hardwired STO safety technology with encoder monitoring. When the external safety circuit opens, the Safe Torque Off function disables torque-producing motor power while the control section remains available for status handling. A built-in internal braking resistor dissipates regenerative energy returned during motor deceleration, reducing the need for an external resistor in applications that remain within its braking capacity.
The aluminum chassis supports wall mounting, allowing the module to attach directly to a suitable cabinet surface. Its mounting arrangement also provides a stable thermal and mechanical connection without requiring a separate rack. The delivery configuration includes a front cover that protects the low-voltage terminals from accidental contact while preserving access for wiring and service. A Connector Set 1 with a one-row layout is approved for this model, while the optional two-row connector set is not installed. The supplied connector arrangement accommodates the required power, motor, control, and safety wiring for both channels. Plug-in expansion cards are not included, so the installed functions are configured through the module’s existing control interfaces and parameter settings.
