The 8EI4X5HWD10.0200-1 is a two-axis servo drive module in the 8EI Servo Drives series manufactured by B & R Automation. It converts three-phase mains power into regulated motor current for the ACOPOS P3 8EI servo drive platform. This allows torque, speed, and position loops to be closed accurately in industrial machinery such as automated handling, processing, and assembly systems. The module is intended for coordinated multi-axis motion where compact installation and accurate current control are required inside control cabinets.

In the standard configuration, each axis can deliver a continuous phase current of 4.5 Aeff, which supports a sustained mechanical output of 2 kW. For transient loading, the current can rise to 12.25 Aeff and power can reach 5 kW, providing short-term overload capacity during acceleration or brief peak demand. The output frequency can be commanded up to 598 Hz, which supports high-speed motor operation within the control range. Connector Set 1 is installed in a single-row format, and a dual-row second connector is not included. The housing is 374 mm high and 66 mm wide, includes a front cover, and is intended for wall-mounted installation in the cabinet. An internal braking resistor is not provided, so regenerative energy must be dissipated externally when the application feeds energy back into the DC link.

Protection is rated at IP20, making the drive suitable for finger-safe switchgear compartments. Pulse-width modulation uses a carrier frequency of 5 kHz, and the input accepts 3× 200–480 VAC, so the module can operate from either 230 V or 400 V line supplies. With a mass of 4 kg, the unit remains compact while still integrating hardwired STO safety that references the encoder for certified stop functions. This arrangement allows the drive to participate in machine safety functions while sharing a common DC link with neighboring axes.
