Product Description:
The 8EI2X2MWTS0.0700-1 from B&R Automation is a servo drive module in the 8EI Servo Drives series. Designed for multi-axis motion control, the module provides integrated power conversion and safety supervision so that synchronous or induction motors can be regulated with tight current, speed, and position loops on automated machinery. By placing the controller close to motor loads, it shortens cable lengths, reduces panel space, and supports coordinated axis profiles in packaging, assembly, and material-handling systems. This layout also helps keep wiring runs compact and supports decentralized machine designs where several axes must operate together.
The unit is supplied as a 3-axis module, so three independent motor windings can be driven from one power section. It provides a continuous output of 2.2 Aeff per axis, which is the sustained current each inverter leg can deliver without thermal derating. Input supply flexibility is provided through 3x 200-230 VAC three-phase service or single-phase 110-230 VAC input, allowing use with different plant power arrangements. Functional safety is built in through SafeMOTION with digital encoder evaluation, enabling stop and speed functions directly inside the drive. Mechanical integration is simplified by its wall mounting format, which places heat-dissipating surfaces against a grounded panel and keeps airflow paths clear.
For deceleration without an external brake chopper, an internal braking resistor is integrated into the module. The factory-installed front cover shields the control terminals from debris after wiring is complete, and field wiring is handled through the bundled 2-row connector set. The module ships without plug-in option cards and uses a standard configuration, so the installed hardware remains unchanged. This arrangement keeps the control section straightforward and avoids extra accessory hardware on the drive body.
