Product Description:
The 8EI2X2MWT10.0700-1 is a servo drive produced by B & R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series. It functions as the motion-control interface between a machine controller and multiple synchronous or induction motors. The drive provides coordinated positioning and velocity control for machinery used in packaging, printing, and assembly cells. Its multi-axis architecture allows several motion channels to operate through one compact unit while sharing power and diagnostic resources. This arrangement reduces the amount of separate drive equipment required inside the control cabinet and supports synchronized movement across connected axes.
The unit accepts a supply of 3 × 200–230 VAC or 1 × 110–230 VAC, allowing operation from either three-phase factory power or a single-phase electrical source. At rated load, it delivers a continuous phase current of 2.2 A RMS to each connected motor axis without thermal derating. This configuration is a three-axis module, so three motors are controlled by independent inverter stages that share a common DC link and diagnostic bus. The shared electrical architecture supports coordinated acceleration and deceleration while allowing each axis to receive its own motion commands. An internal braking resistor dissipates regenerative energy produced during rapid deceleration, reducing the need for an external resistor in many applications.
The drive incorporates hardwired STO safety technology with encoder monitoring to remove motor torque quickly when the safety circuit is interrupted. Encoder monitoring supervises motor position and supports controlled recovery after the safety condition has been cleared. The delivered configuration uses the standard module option, so no application-specific daughterboards are preinstalled. A factory-fitted front cover protects the connectors from accidental contact while preserving access for cable installation and routine inspection. Heat-producing components are arranged for vertical wall mounting, which supports natural upward airflow through the cabinet. This mounting arrangement also keeps the installation footprint compact and places the electrical connections where they can be routed without obstructing adjacent control equipment.
