Product Description:
The 8EI2X2HWS10.A600-1 is a servo drive module manufactured by B&R Automation as part of the 8EI Servo Drives series. Within the ACOPOS P3 8EI servo drive platform, the unit functions as a single-axis controller that converts fixed AC input power into regulated power for a connected motor. It is intended for precise motion tasks in industrial automation, where it commands a compatible synchronous or induction servo motor to follow position, speed, and torque references from the machine controller.
The drive operates from a three-phase input of 200–480 VAC, allowing it to accommodate multiple plant voltages without external transformers. Its power stage provides a continuous output current of 2.2 A RMS for sustained motor operation. Built-in safety is provided by hardwired STO technology, which disables torque-producing power when the machine enters a safe state. Energy returned by the motor during deceleration is absorbed by an internal braking resistor, reducing the need for external braking components in suitable applications. Motor feedback connects through a single resolver interface, allowing the drive to monitor rotor angle for commutation and closed-loop motion control. The resolver signal supports accurate position and speed regulation across the operating range without requiring a separate digital encoder input.
The housing supports wall mounting, which keeps the heat sink vertically oriented and promotes airflow through the surrounding panel space. I/O and power wiring connect through a single-row connector set, while the omitted second two-row assembly helps reduce the module depth. A front cover guards live parts and internal connections when the drive is installed in its operating position. The compact arrangement supports installation in control cabinets where available mounting area and wiring clearance are limited, while accessible connection points simplify cable routing between the mains supply, motor, safety circuit, and controller.
