Product Description:
The 8EI2X2HWS10.0500-1 is a servo drive module produced by B&R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series. It belongs to the ACOPOS P3 8EI servo drive product group and controls synchronous motors used in multi-axis machines, packaging systems, and other automated equipment. The self-contained drive section supplies regulated motor power, executes commanded motion profiles, and exchanges real-time operating data with higher-level controllers. Its integrated control functions allow the connected motor to follow programmed speed, torque, and position commands. The module is designed for installation with compatible system components in an industrial control enclosure.
This model is supplied as a 1-axis module and provides a continuous output current of 2.2 A RMS to the connected motor winding. It accepts power from a 3 × 200–480 VAC supply, allowing direct connection to commonly used three-phase industrial power systems. A factory-installed internal braking resistor dissipates regenerated energy produced during motor deceleration, reducing the need for an external resistor during standard duty cycles. Drive-integrated protection is provided by hardwired STO safety technology with encoder support, which removes torque-producing energy when the safety circuit opens. This function helps place the connected axis in a torque-free state when an appropriate safety command is activated. The standard module option set is used, and customization options are not included with this model.
Encoder and I/O wiring connect through a 2-row connector set, which organizes signal connections when multiple drive modules share an enclosure or backplane. Connector set 1 is not included, so the available field connections should be considered when planning the control wiring. The module is supplied without a front cover, leaving its field terminals accessible after it is mounted in the enclosure. No additional plug-in extension module is included with the unit. The housing is designed for wall mounting, allowing the heat sink to align with vertical airflow paths inside the control cabinet. Adequate clearance around the mounted drive supports natural air movement across the heat-dissipation surfaces. Power, motor, encoder, and control wiring should be routed so that terminal access and cabinet airflow remain unobstructed.
