Product Description:
The 8EI2X2HWS10.0400-1 is a servo drive manufactured by B&R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series. As part of the ACOPOS P3 platform, it regulates motor torque, speed, and position in automated production cells, packaging equipment, and material-handling systems. The drive combines the power stage and control electronics required to operate a compatible synchronous motor. Its single-axis module configuration allows one motor to be integrated into an industrial motion system without allocating connections for additional axes. Closed-loop control enables the drive to respond to motion commands and correct deviations caused by changing loads during operation.
The drive delivers a continuous phase current of 2.2 Aeff, allowing the connected motor to draw the stated effective current without thermal derating under approved operating conditions. It accepts a three-phase supply of 3x 200-480 VAC, supporting installation on common industrial power networks within that voltage range. An internal braking resistor dissipates regenerative energy returned during motor deceleration, reducing the need for external braking equipment in suitable applications. The hardwired STO safety function with encoder input removes torque-producing power in less than one millisecond when the safety circuit opens. The housing supports wall mounting, which places the drive directly against the cabinet back panel and helps transfer heat away from its internal components.
The connection hardware includes Connector Set 1 with a single-row terminal strip for the single-axis configuration. Connector Set 2 and its two-row plug are not included, which reduces the amount of wiring space required around the unit. The delivery scope does not contain a plug-in module, so no expansion card is installed in the standard unit. A front cover is also not included with this configuration. Power, motor, feedback, and safety wiring should be routed according to the designated terminal positions and the required separation between power and signal conductors.
