Product Description:
The 8EI2X2HWD10.0600-1 servo drive is produced by B&R Automation as a member of the 8EI Servo Drives series within the ACOPOS P3 platform. It functions as a multi-axis power stage that converts three-phase mains power into controlled output currents for connected motors. This power conversion allows industrial controllers to regulate motor position and speed in packaging lines, material-handling stations, and general factory automation cells. Housing multiple motor channels in one frame also reduces the amount of cabinet space and power wiring required for coordinated machine axes.
The unit is supplied as a 2-axis module, allowing two motor windings to be controlled independently from a single drive frame. Each channel provides a continuous current of 2.2 A RMS for steady operation within the permitted thermal range. The power section has a three-phase supply range of 200 to 480 VAC, making it suitable for common low-voltage industrial power systems. The housing supports wall mounting, so the module can be secured flat against a cabinet backplate to assist with heat transfer and maintain an orderly panel layout. An internal braking resistor dissipates regenerated energy during rapid motor deceleration, reducing the need for external braking components in suitable applications. A factory-installed front cover protects the control terminals from accidental contact while leaving the required wiring points accessible.
Functional safety is provided by hardwired STO with an encoder reference. When the safe torque off circuit is triggered, the drive removes torque-producing energy from the connected motors within milliseconds. This arrangement allows the safety circuit to operate through dedicated wiring rather than depending on a network command. The supplied 1-row connector set supports cable installation in narrow enclosures, and a 2-row connector set is not included. The absence of a plug-in expansion module helps preserve the compact footprint and leaves the front of the drive clear for routine access. The standard front cover, connector arrangement, and integrated safety input support installation without additional control-terminal protection or expansion hardware.
