Product Description:
The 8EI034HWS10.A000-1 servo drive module is produced by B & R Automation within the 8EI Servo Drives series. It is part of the ACOPOS P3 platform and is intended for industrial automation systems. The unit controls one AC motor axis by converting three-phase mains power into regulated motor current for precise torque and velocity control in packaging stations, gantry axes, and similar machinery. Its single-axis design allows the connected motor to follow commands from a higher-level machine controller while maintaining stable operation under changing loads.
As a 1-axis module, the device dedicates its inverter resources to a single motor. It delivers a continuous output current of 34 Aeff, allowing compatible medium-power synchronous or induction motors to operate at their rated loads without thermal derating. The input section accepts three-phase 200–480 VAC, permitting operation on common 230 V and 400 V industrial power systems. The module supports wall mounting, which positions the heat sink against the cabinet backplate and provides an efficient path for heat dissipation. Functional safety is provided by hardwired STO safety technology with encoder feedback, which removes drive energy through redundant channels while retaining position information for diagnostic purposes. The module does not contain an internal braking resistor, so an external dissipation device is required when regenerative energy from high-inertia stops exceeds the system’s absorption capacity.
Power, control, and feedback lines connect through one-row connector set 1, which provides a compact connection point for the required wiring. A second two-row connector is omitted to minimize the module’s panel depth. Feedback wiring connects to one resolver interface, allowing direct use with compatible resolver-equipped motors without an additional interface card. The option slots use the factory-defined Standard configuration, keeping the installed component arrangement consistent. The unit is supplied without a front cover, so suitable terminal shielding or enclosure protection must be provided during installation. Cable routing should preserve access to the connector set while maintaining the clearances needed around the heat sink and exposed connection area.
