Product Description:
The 8EI024HWS10.0300-1 servo drive is manufactured by B & R Automation and belongs to the 8EI Servo Drives series within the ACOPOS P3 platform. As a single-axis module, it converts three-phase mains power into controlled output for synchronous or induction motors, providing position, speed, and torque regulation in automated machinery. It incorporates hardwired safe torque off (STO) functionality and supports encoder feedback for closed-loop motor control.
The drive accepts a supply range of 3 × 200–480 VAC. Its power stage can deliver a continuous phase current of 24 A RMS and accommodate short-term current demands of up to 60 A RMS. During power-up, the rectifier accepts an inrush current of 100 A. The DC link provides 1680 µF of capacitance and is rated for 10 kW of DC bus power. The power stage switches at 5 kHz. Regenerated energy is dissipated through an external braking resistor with a minimum resistance of 13 Ω. The braking circuit provides 4 kW of continuous dissipation and supports 6.5 A of current. The installed load reaches 18.7 kVA when the drive is fully utilized, while a dedicated encoder supply provides 300 mA for connected feedback devices.
The module supports a peak motor output of 25 kW and continuous motor operation at 10 kW. Dynamic deceleration is supported by a braking resistor channel that handles short bursts of up to 45 kW. The inverter produces fundamental motor frequencies as high as 598 Hz, permitting operation with high-speed servo axes. The module is designed for wall mounting and has a sealed front cover that protects its internal components. A two-row connector set provides the electrical interface for power, control, safety, and feedback connections. The drive uses an external braking resistor rather than an internal resistor, and its hardwired STO circuit provides a direct method for disabling motor torque. Its single-axis design allows one motor to be regulated through the integrated power stage and control electronics.
