The 8EI022HWD10.0200-1 servo drive module is built by B&R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series within the ACOPOS P3 platform. Intended for multi-axis motion systems, the drive converts three-phase AC mains into regulated DC power and switching signals so that two servo motors can be commanded precisely from a central controller. Integrated encoder evaluation and hardwired safety logic allow the unit to regulate torque and speed in real time while supporting dependable shutdown paths in industrial packaging, handling, and assembly equipment. In multi-axis systems, this supports synchronized motion, repeatable positioning, and fast response across paired motor channels.
Power is accepted over 3x 200-480 VAC, enabling the same hardware to operate on low- or medium-voltage plant supplies without changing to a different drive family. Each axis sustains a continuous current of 22 Aeff, supporting mid-frame synchronous motors that run under constant load during coordinated machine movement. The unit is a 2-axis module, so both motor channels are housed in one drive body. Installation uses wall mounting holes that fit common enclosure layouts. Electrical connections use Connector Set 1 (1-row), which provides a single-row terminal arrangement at the power interface. A molded front cover maintains touch-safe clearance across the power terminals and helps protect the connection area.
Safety functions are provided by Hardwired STO safety technology with encoder, which removes torque-producing power in less than a drive cycle while preserving encoder feedback for the control system. Because there is no internal braking resistor, regenerative energy must be routed to an external resistor or a shared DC link during deceleration. The drive is supplied without a plug-in module. It uses the Standard module option for the base configuration used in this product line. This arrangement keeps the module focused on core motion control, safety shutdown, and external energy handling during braking events.
