Product Description:
The 1-axis servo drive 8EI017HWS10.0S00-1 belongs to ACOPOS P3 series built by B & R Automation as a wall mounted model. Its encoder interface supports multiple formats and provides a selectable output voltage option of 11.45 or 5.2 V. The module operates with 3 x 200-480 VAC input voltage and has a load capacity up to 18 kVA.
The 8EI017HWS10.0S00-1 module's DC bus provides 8.5 kW continuous power and its capacitance is rated at 0.00094 F. The 24 VDC input allows a ~25% range and has an input capacitance of 0.00055 F. This DC supply also provides 1.2 A of current for motor's holding brake and works on a maximum line length of 98 ft. The 8EI01 module supports one motor connection to provide 17 A of continuous current and a peak current output of 42.5 A in overload conditions. The unit supports 8.5 kW continuous and 21.25 kW peak power. It operates at frequencies of 5, 10 or 20 kHz for switching and its nominal frequency is set at 5 kHz along with 598 Hz of peak value for output frequency. The drive's current derating starts at 40 degrees C for 5 kHz and at higher frequencies the derating threshold is low while the elevation derating begins above 1640 ft of installation. The 8EI01 module can be attached to a holding brake of 4 A current, maximum extinction energy 15 Ws and the internal brake resistance must be under 100 Milli Ohms.
The 8EI017HWS10.0S00-1 module is presented with connectors from X1 to X8, X1 is used for mains and DC bus, X2 is for the 24 VDC power input, X3A and X3B are used for POWERLINK, X4x is the digital multi-encoder interface, X6 connects external braking resistors while X7 and X8 handles enable and trigger signals. The 8EI01 module includes short-circuit as well as overload protection and its enclosure is compact and IP20 rated.
Frequently Asked Questions about 8EI017HWS10.0S00-1:
Q: How does the encoder interface benefit multi-axis synchronization?
A: The digital multi-encoder interface allows precise feedback across formats, enhancing synchronization accuracy in multi-axis motion systems.
Q: What's the role of the 5500 uF input capacitance at 24 VDC?
A: It stabilizes voltage supply during fluctuations, ensuring consistent operation of control logic and the holding brake circuitry.
Q: Why is a selectable output voltage (11.45 or 5.2 V) for encoders important?
A: It provides compatibility with different encoder types, offering flexibility in integration without additional voltage regulators.
Q: How does the drive ensure safety during short circuits or overloads?
A: The 8EI017HWS10.0S00-1 integrates internal protections, which automatically disengage circuits during fault conditions to prevent hardware damage.
Q: What is the significance of IP20 enclosure in industrial settings?
A: The IP20 rating offers basic protection against solid objects, suitable for closed cabinet installations in clean, controlled environments.
