The 8EI017HWD10.0200-1 is an AC servo drive module manufactured by B&R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series. As part of the ACOPOS P3 platform, it converts three-phase mains power into regulated motor currents while processing encoder feedback for synchronized motion. The module combines power electronics and motion control in a compact housing for packaging, assembly, and material-handling equipment. Its integrated design reduces cabinet depth and limits the amount of field wiring required between the controller and connected motors.
The power stage accepts a supply range of 3x 200–480 VAC, allowing operation on several common industrial power networks. Each channel sustains 17 Aeff of continuous phase current, providing capacity for dynamic loads without continuous-current derating. The hardware uses a two-axis module arrangement in which both outputs share a DC link and associated power-stage resources. Motor, encoder, and I/O conductors terminate on a one-row connector set, reducing the number of separate connection points and keeping cable routing compact. Functional safety is provided by hardwired STO safety technology with encoder support. When the STO input opens, the power stages are de-energized to prevent torque-producing current from reaching the connected motors.
The enclosure supports wall mounting, allowing the module to attach directly to the designated cabinet surface. A supplied front cover shields live components and helps prevent accidental contact when the drive is installed. The unit has no internal braking resistor, so regenerated energy produced during deceleration must be handled by an external braking resistor or a regenerative supply. The drive is supplied without a plug-in module, leaving optional expansion hardware outside the standard delivery. Its one-piece heat-sink chassis provides a direct thermal path from the power electronics to the mounting area, where the generated heat can be transferred away from the module.
