Product Description:
The 8EI013HWSS0.0700-1 is a single-axis servo drive manufactured by B & R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series. Operating within the ACOPOS P3 8EI platform, it regulates torque, speed, and position for compatible synchronous or induction motors used on automated production lines. The module mounts directly on a wall panel, which supports installation in control cabinets with conventional back-panel layouts. A digital encoder interface supplies motor feedback, while SafeMOTION processes safety data for certified stopping and speed-limiting functions without requiring separate signal wiring.
The power stage accepts a three-phase input of 3 × 200–480 VAC and provides a continuous output current of 13 A RMS. During brief acceleration or overload events, the output current can reach 32.5 A RMS. Under rated operating conditions, the drive delivers 6.5 kW and supports output frequencies up to 598 Hz. Its 940 µF DC-link capacitor helps stabilize the power bus, while a 5,500 µF control capacitor provides stored energy for the control electronics during brief mains interruptions. Startup inrush current reaches 50 A, and the cabinet supply demand is 13.5 kVA. Regenerated energy can be dissipated through the internal brake resistor or directed to an external braking unit rated for 25 kW.
Carrier switching occurs at 5 kHz, allowing motor cable lengths of up to 75 m while maintaining controlled output modulation. Auxiliary outputs provide 300 mA for encoder power and 4 A for a holding brake, while the trigger input requires only 7 mA. The drive reaches a peak mechanical output of 16.25 kW for short periods when the connected motor and operating cycle permit the additional load. SafeMOTION telegrams and real-time motion commands travel through the 100 Mbit/s Ethernet fieldbus. The standard assembly includes a front cover, SafeMOTION functionality, a two-row connector set, and wall-mounting hardware. Plug-in option cards and a one-row connector are not included in this configuration.
