The 8EI013HWS10.0700-1 is a servo drive manufactured by B&R Automation for the 8EI Servo Drives series within the ACOPOS P3 family. As a drive controller, it converts incoming mains power into regulated motor current for precise position, speed, and torque control. Closed-loop regulation allows the connected motor to follow motion commands while responding to load changes during operation. The unit is suitable for industrial automation cells and machine tools that require coordinated motor control in a compact cabinet installation.
The drive accepts input from a three-phase supply rated at 200–480 VAC, allowing direct connection to common plant distribution voltages. During continuous operation, it can deliver 13 A RMS of output current to the motor phases, supporting medium-power servomotors without separate cooling accessories. Integrated protection is provided by hardwired STO safety technology with encoder support, which removes torque-producing energy when the safety circuit opens. The STO function acts quickly without requiring the main power supply to be disconnected from the entire machine. An internal braking resistor dissipates regenerated energy during rapid deceleration, reducing the need for an external braking resistor with typical inertia loads. The heat sink supports wall mounting, allowing heat to transfer through the mounting surface to the cabinet backplate.
The drive is supplied as a single-axis module for controlling one connected motor. Field wiring is routed through a two-row connector set, which organizes power, feedback, safety, and control connections at the unit. A protective front cover shields the terminals from accidental contact while the drive is installed in a cabinet. The unit uses the standard module option and does not include customized selections. No plug-in module is included with delivery, leaving the appropriate communication or I/O card to be selected for the intended control system. This arrangement permits the required interface card to be installed without changing the drive’s primary power and motion-control functions.
