B&R Automation’s 8EI013HWS10.0600-1 is a servo drive module in the 8EI Servo Drives series. It is intended for coordinated motion in packaging, handling, and assembly equipment, where it meters current and voltage to a matched synchronous motor through a central control system. This arrangement lets the motor respond quickly to changing motion commands during indexing, transfer, and synchronized production tasks. The drive regulates position, speed, and torque in real time, and a front cover protects the signal connectors during panel installation. The enclosed front area also helps keep low-voltage connection points organized during normal cabinet access.

Electrically, the unit is configured as a 1-axis module, so one power stage controls one mechanical axis independently. This single-axis format is useful where each motor channel needs its own dedicated control path. It can deliver a continuous phase current of 13 Aeff, which supports steady operation with midsize motors under rated load. The power section accepts 3x 200-480 VAC, allowing use on common industrial mains. An internal braking resistor absorbs regenerated energy during deceleration, and field wiring connects through connector set 1 (1-row) for one-cable motor technology. The one-cable approach reduces separate wiring runs between the motor and the drive.

For safety integration, the drive uses hardwired STO safety technology with encoder, which removes gate drive enable when the safety circuit opens while still monitoring feedback signals. This arrangement supports machine designs that require a direct hardwired safety stop. The housing is intended for wall mounting so the heat sink can align with natural airflow inside the cabinet. The unit is supplied without a plug-in module, leaving communication or I/O expansion to separate add-on hardware when needed.
