The 8DI450.DB0227600-1 is an ACOPOS servo motor manufactured by B & R Automation and positioned within the 8DI ACOPOS Motors series. It is intended for decentralized drive architectures, where the motor supplies rotary motion and exchanges process data over the real-time POWERLINK network. Because communication passes through the motor itself, distributed machine sections can be linked without routing every signal back to a central cabinet. The inductive operating principle generates torque, and the keyed shaft end allows direct coupling to pulleys or gearsets. Integrated multi-turn functional-safety feedback supports safe position detection during controlled motion on industrial robots, packaging lines, and material-handling axes.
Mechanically, the unit uses module size code 4 and length code 5, giving a compact envelope that still permits an axial shaft load of 2300 N. A factory-installed holding brake secures the axis when power is removed, and the motor is built without an oil seal for dry-room use.
