Product Description:
The 8DI330.D90457100-1 is an integrated AC servo motor module produced by B & R Automation for the 8DI ACOPOS Motors series. By combining power electronics, encoder feedback, and fieldbus communication in one housing, the unit delivers closed-loop torque and position control to conveyors, pick-and-place heads, and gantry axes in automated machinery. A dedicated POWERLINK pass-through simplifies daisy-chaining when several modules share the same Ethernet segment.
Its position sensor uses EnDat 2.2 digital feedback, providing 4,096 distinguishable revolutions with 12-bit resolution for multi-turn position monitoring. The encoder attains a mechanical accuracy of ±120 arcseconds, allowing precise placement without external scales. Motor commutation and load detection rely on an inductive operating principle that is resistant to magnetic debris and supports high-speed sampling. During continuous operation, the rotor can sustain a rated speed of 4,500 rpm, making high cycle rates possible on short-stroke axes. The unit has configuration version 1, module length code 3, and module size code 3. Two trigger inputs and two 24 VDC outputs are provided for synchronizing sensors or clamps directly at the motor housing. The motor has no holding brake, which minimizes rotational inertia, while its smooth shaft accommodates low-backlash couplings.
For mechanical integration, the actuator withstands axial loads up to 1,400 N, permitting direct belt tension or thrust-screw installation without auxiliary bearings. An oil seal retains gearbox lubricant and supports ingress protection in open-frame installations. The actuator has a shock limit of ≤2,000 m/s², while its operational vibration limits are ≤400 m/s² and ≤600 m/s², depending on direction. These limits support operation on fast-moving carriages exposed to repeated motion and sudden acceleration. Drive shutdown paths use hardwired safety technology, enabling immediate torque removal independent of network latency. This direct shutdown method allows the safety circuit to respond without waiting for a command to pass through the communication network.
