The 8BVP0880HW00.008-1 is a front-end power supply assembled by B&R Automation within the 8BVP ACOPOS Power Supplies series. It feeds a common DC bus in modular motion systems, supplying regulated energy to multiple drives and supporting controlled regeneration during deceleration. Intended for switchgear cabinets, the unit provides rectification, status diagnostics, and integrated cooling without requiring separate line-side components. This arrangement helps connected servo axes share power over the DC link during changing load conditions and supports stable operation in multi-axis machinery.

Under continuous load, the module delivers 60 kW at a nominal bus level of 750 VDC, allowing several high-torque servo amplifiers to draw current at the same time. To absorb transient energy, the internal capacitor bank provides 1650 µF of storage, while a nominal switching frequency of 5 kHz balances ripple performance with conduction loss. Initial energization subjects the line to an inrush peak of 133 A, which is important when selecting upstream protection and pre-charge components.
