Product Description:
The 8BVI0110HWSS.000-1 servo controller is manufactured by B & R Automation as part of the 8BVI Servo Controllers series. Intended for cabinet installation, the unit manages torque, speed, and position for one synchronous or asynchronous motor in automated machinery. It conditions the DC bus energy and drives an inverter stage to create regulated three-phase output suited for high-dynamic axes on packaging lines, material-handling cells, and general motion applications. A single motor connection on the front panel simplifies wiring in compact machines.
Under continuous duty, the controller delivers a motor current of 15.1 Aeff and sustains a mechanical output of 11 kW, while its own power draw is 11.2 kW at rated load. The internal DC link is stabilized at 750 VDC and buffered by 330 µF of bus capacitance to handle regeneration without overvoltage trips. For rapid accelerations, it can supply a peak phase current of 37.7 Aeff. Two plug-in module slots accept option cards for fieldbus or I/O expansion, and a holding-brake supply provides 2.1 A to release or set motor brakes as commanded.
For high-speed positioning tasks, the inverter can generate output frequencies up to 598 Hz. Carrier modulation is fixed at 5 kHz to balance acoustic noise and switching losses. Low-voltage electronics are supported by a 24 V auxiliary rail whose input is smoothed by 23.5 µF of capacitance, helping maintain logic stability during supply dips. The enclosure measures 317 mm in height, 263 mm in depth, and 53 mm in width, allowing dense stacking on DIN rails. With one motor connection terminal and natural convection cooling pathways, the unit offers predictable thermal behavior when mounted in enclosures that meet the clearances prescribed for the series.
