Internal Product Review
The 8BVI0028HCD0.000-1 is a B & R Automation servo controller with 2 motor connections for efficient multi-axis integration. Continuous power per motor at 2.8 kW and peak current per motor at 9.5 A give the platform confident dynamic performance under changing loads. IP20 protection and a 598 Hz max output frequency make the controller an excellent fit for high-response industrial motion systems.

Product Description:
The 8BVI0028HCD0.000-1 is a dual-axis servo controller from the 8BVI Servo Controllers series produced by B & R Automation. It interfaces between a machine-level motion CPU and two connected servomotors, converting drive commands into regulated current and voltage on the DC bus so that speed, position, and brake functions are maintained during automated cycles on packaging lines, pick-and-place modules, and material-handling gantries. Because it combines two motor channels in one housing, it supports compact multi-axis layouts with shared power distribution and coordinated motion control. Two motor connectors and two plug-in option slots allow flexible feedback and safety interface selection.
The logic section is powered from a control supply of 25 VDC ±1.6%, and the internal buffer capacitance of 23.5 µF smooths transients on that rail. Each motor channel can draw a continuous phase current of 3.8 A (effective), while total cabinet demand is limited by a continuous power consumption of 5.73 kW. Both axes are tied to a 750 VDC DC bus through a laminated link, and 165 µF of DC-link capacitance provides stored energy for rapid torque steps. The housing has an IP20 rating, so the unit must be installed in an enclosed panel where forced air keeps the power electronics within their allowable temperature range.
The pulse-width modulated stage can produce output frequencies up to 598 Hz, and its nominal 5 kHz switching frequency balances dynamic response against switching losses. During short-term overload, the drive delivers 9.5 A (effective) per motor, and the onboard brake transistor can sink 1.1 A at 24 VDC to release or hold external mechanical brakes. Installation is permitted up to 4000 m above sea level without derating, provided the continuous power per motor stays within 2.8 kW and the cooling air remains within the permitted operating conditions. Two available module slots also leave room for later fieldbus or encoder expansion without changing the main power stage.
