Product Description:
The 80VD100PD.C000-14 inverter module is produced by B&R Automation as part of the 80VD Inverter Modules series. As a drive component, it conditions DC bus power for two motor connections, allowing coordinated speed and torque control in machine axes. Integration into ACOPOS multi-axis systems is supported by the matching form factor and by an internal interface that aligns with the surrounding power and signal backplane. This arrangement places the power conversion stage close to the system bus structure and supports compact multi-axis cabinet layouts.
During operation, the module can deliver a continuous output of 8 A to the connected motors, indicating the sustained current each phase can draw without derating. Two transistorized outputs rated at 2x 24 VDC are provided for actuating brakes, contactors, or other peripheral loads. Position feedback from the motors is accepted through 2x EnDat 2.2 encoder channels, enabling high-resolution closed-loop control. Each feedback channel is assigned to a motor connection so position data from both axes can be processed independently. Networked motion coordination is handled by the integrated POWERLINK fieldbus node, which transfers setpoints and diagnostic data in real time. Electrical separation between the module and the upstream ACOPOS bus is specified at 500 Veff, helping protect the control electronics from fluctuations on the power side.
Cabinet planning is aided by the unit’s 65 mm width, 134 mm height, and 95 mm depth, dimensions that allow dense mounting on DIN rails. With a mass of 755 g, the module adds minimal load to a vertical panel and dissipates heat primarily through convection. The compact housing leaves room for adjacent modules and front-access wiring in dense control cabinets. All control logic is powered from a nominal 24 VDC supply, and the two output channels have a total sourcing limit of 1 A. Separate terminals accommodate both motor leads, which helps keep wiring organized when two axes share the same inverter enclosure.
