Product Description:
The 80MPH6.300S114-01 is a hybrid stepper motor produced by B & R Automation as part of the 80M Stepper Motors series. Designed for incremental motion control, the unit converts pulse-train commands into precise shaft movements. This operating principle supports controlled acceleration, repeatable positioning, and accurate indexing without the complex commutation required by many servo systems. Typical applications include indexing tables, packaging actuators, and light pick-and-place axes in industrial automation equipment.
A current base value of 30 establishes the reference phase current that the drive parameters should match, and a current multiplier of 10^0 indicates that the base value requires no additional scaling. Shaft position is verified with an ABR incremental encoder, which outputs quadrature signals for step confirmation and loss-of-synchronization detection. The square mounting interface measures 86 mm and corresponds to a NEMA 34 frame, allowing the motor to attach to widely used gearboxes, brackets, and machine plates. The housing has an ingress protection rating of IP65, providing protection against dust and low-pressure water jets in dusty or washdown areas. Design revision 01 sets the connector orientation and maintains electrical compatibility with associated drives in the platform.
The rotor-stator assembly uses motor stack code 6 and has a configuration of 3 stacks. This arrangement increases holding torque while maintaining a moderate frame depth for installation in machinery with limited space. The flange size designation of H indicates a heavy-duty bolt circle and pilot diameter, which help align the motor with precision gear reducers. The motor is supplied with no brake, so the shaft remains free when power is removed. Applications that require a stationary load must use an external holding device or maintain phase energization while the axis is stopped.
