Product Description:
The 80MPH6.101S000-01 is a hybrid stepping motor manufactured by B & R Automation within the 80M Stepper Motors series. Designed for industrial automation, the unit converts discrete control pulses into equal angular steps without requiring a feedback sensor. This pulse-driven operation enables repeatable positioning of small loaders, indexing fixtures, and packaging axes. The hybrid design combines permanent-magnet and variable-reluctance operating principles to produce controlled incremental motion. A compatible microstepping controller can divide each full step into smaller increments, reducing vibration and improving motion smoothness at lower speeds.
The mechanical interface uses an 86 mm (NEMA 34) square flange, allowing the frame to fit common gearboxes and linear actuators that share the same bolt pattern. Electrical loading is based on a current value of 10 amperes per phase. When this value is multiplied by the supplied scaling factor of x10 (10^1), the encoded drive-current reference corresponds to 100 amperes in the associated motor calculations. The selected controller and power stage must be configured to operate within the motor’s applicable electrical limits. For assemblies that must remain stationary during a power loss, an external holding device may be required because this model has no brake. Omitting the brake reduces the motor’s overall length and rotational inertia. The flange carries the size designation H, which groups compatible shaft and pilot dimensions within the 80M platform.
Position feedback hardware is omitted because the motor has no encoder, allowing open-loop operation with simpler cabling. The controller determines the commanded position by counting drive pulses rather than reading measured shaft movement. An internal magnet stack code of 6 is paired with a three-stack lamination assembly to increase detent torque and holding capability at standstill. The winding insulation and housing seals use the series’ standard protection level, making the motor appropriate for clean, dry operating areas. Adequate ventilation around the housing helps remove heat generated by the phase windings during sustained operation. Design revision 01 associates the motor with the corresponding operating data for the 80MP drive family. The 80MP stepper-motor designation identifies the electromagnetic configuration intended for compatible B & R Automation microstepping controllers.
