Product Description:
The 80MPH1.300S000-01 stepper motor is produced by B&R Automation for the 80M Stepper Motors series. The 80MP type code identifies a two-phase hybrid design that provides holding torque without active feedback. Installed between a stepper drive and the mechanical load, the motor converts pulse and direction commands into precise angular increments. This operating method supports product indexing, format adjustment, and light material-handling axes in automated equipment. Its incremental motion also makes the motor suitable for applications in which repeatable movement is required without the added complexity of a closed-loop feedback system.
The motor follows the NEMA 34 mounting footprint, and its square flange measures 86 mm (NEMA 34) across. Its internal size designation is H, allowing the housing to mount directly to compatible gearboxes or frame plates. The rotor and stator package includes no brake, so stationary loads must be held by energized motor torque or an external locking device. The electrical configuration uses a current base value of 30 with a multiplier of x1 (10⁰). These values allow the connected stepper drive to be configured through the corresponding current index. The drive must be selected and adjusted so its phase-current output remains suitable for the motor during continuous operation. Proper mounting alignment also helps prevent unnecessary shaft loading when the motor is connected to a gearbox, coupling, or driven mechanism.
Design revision 01 indicates the first revision of this motor design. The unit has no encoder, so position tracking depends on the number of steps commanded by the controller. This open-loop arrangement is appropriate for feeders and format-adjustment axes that can perform periodic homing when necessary. The magnetic assembly uses 1 stack, which keeps the motor body relatively short and limits rotor inertia for responsive acceleration. Its standard protection level is intended for installations where the surrounding enclosure provides the necessary protection from contaminants and accidental contact. Adequate ventilation around the motor helps dissipate heat generated during repeated starts, stops, and holding periods. The machine design should also prevent liquids, conductive debris, and excessive dust from reaching the motor when the surrounding environment requires additional protection.
