Product Description:
The 80MPF5.500S114-01 is produced by B & R Automation as part of its 80M Stepper Motors series. This positioning motor converts digital pulse trains from a drive into controlled angular movement for indexing tables, pick-and-place axes, and similar industrial automation equipment. Following the 80MP stepper design, it interfaces with motion controllers through integrated position monitoring so that a PLC can command exact shaft increments. This arrangement supports controlled acceleration and repeatable movement during automated production cycles.
A flange measuring 60 mm across provides the face dimensions needed for direct attachment to gearheads or mounting brackets. The housing has an IP65 protection rating, so it resists dust ingress and water jets during washdown service. Motion feedback is supplied by an ABR incremental encoder, which provides pulse tracks that allow the drive to monitor shaft movement. Because the unit has no holding brake on the rear shaft, holding torque or an external clamp must retain the load when power is removed. The motor uses a current base value of 50, which corresponds to the phase-current scaling range used by the drive amplifier. Proper drive configuration allows the controller to apply current according to the motor’s operating requirements while maintaining stable step response.
The internal geometry uses three laminated steel stacks and a winding arrangement identified by stack code 5. This layout increases detent torque per step while keeping rotor inertia compatible with moderate acceleration demands. Design revision 01 indicates the first released version of the motor. A standard front face code of F provides a consistent mounting-hole arrangement across compatible 80M installations. The drive-current scaling uses an x1 multiplier factor, or 10^0, so the controller applies the rated phase current directly. This direct scaling reduces the need for conversion calculations when entering the motor parameters into the motion controller.
