The 80MPF5.500S113-01 is a hybrid 80MP stepper motor produced by B & R Automation for the 80M Stepper Motors series. It converts command pulses from a motion controller into precise shaft rotation for positioning cylinders, feeders, and small gantries in automated equipment. This unit is delivered as design revision 01 and comes without a brake, so position holding after power is removed must be provided by external mechanics or drive torque.

The motor accepts up to 80 VDC from the driver, which is the highest permissible DC bus voltage for the winding insulation. A base phase current of 50 A with a multiplier factor of ×1 supports consistent electromagnetic force under nominal operation. Each electrical step advances the rotor by 1.8°, giving 200 full-step positions per revolution before microstepping is applied. Closed-loop feedback is supplied by an SSI absolute encoder with 4096 increments / rev, so the controller can verify position without a homing sequence. That feedback arrangement lets the control system compare commanded and actual shaft position during motion and holding phases. The encoder is protected by an IP65 housing, and the motor mounts on a 60 mm square flange identified by size designation F. Internally, the motor uses construction code 5 for this frame.

The shaft can support up to 75 N of radial force, which allows direct use with belt drives or pinions. That load capacity is suitable for compact transmission elements mounted close to the front bearing. Rotor inertia is 920 g cm², balancing acceleration response with stable positioning during indexing duty. In indexing applications, that inertia level helps smooth motion without making the rotor excessively sluggish. The encoder logic is powered from 3.3 VDC, making it suitable for low-voltage control electronics. The coil assembly uses 3 stacks, which is the winding arrangement used for this motor version.
