The 80MPD3.300S000-01 is a hybrid stepper motor produced by B & R Automation for the 80M Stepper Motors series. Within an automation cell, the motor converts pulsed current from a microstepping drive into precise angular displacement, allowing pick-and-place axes, feeders, and small gantries to reach commanded positions without integrated position feedback. Its permanent-magnet rotor and toothed stator produce discrete angular steps and provide detent torque when the motor is not energized. This operating principle supports repeatable open-loop positioning in machinery with predictable loads and properly configured acceleration profiles.
The motor uses a 56 mm (NEMA 23) square flange for direct attachment to compatible gearheads, pulleys, and machine mounting plates. The D size code identifies the associated mechanical configuration within the product designation. Electrical sizing uses a phase current base value of 30, while the x1 (10^0) multiplier leaves that coded value unchanged for drive selection. The motor has no brake, so power-off holding capability depends on rotor detent torque or an external locking mechanism. When the windings are energized, phase current provides additional holding torque for stationary positioning. The 80 mm frame depth provides space for the winding assembly while maintaining a compact profile for confined machine locations.
Revision 01 indicates the first documented design release for this motor configuration. The unit has no encoder, so applications that require confirmation of completed motion must use external sensing or another independent monitoring method. Without external feedback, the control system calculates position from the number and direction of commanded steps. The motor uses lamination code 3 for its rotor and stator assembly. Its two-stack stator arrangement increases available torque while keeping rotor inertia moderate for rapid indexing movements.
