The 80MPD1.300S014-01 is a hybrid stepper motor produced by B & R Automation for the 80M Stepper Motors series. As a two-phase device, it produces discrete angular steps that allow a machine controller to move loads to precise positions without requiring closed-loop control. Within an automation cell, the motor can serve as a direct-drive actuator for indexing tables, small gantries, and metering pumps that require low-speed torque and repeatable positioning. Its hybrid design combines permanent-magnet and variable-reluctance operating principles to provide controlled incremental movement. The compact format also supports installation in machines where mounting space is limited.
The rotor has no holding brake, so commanded current must maintain the shaft position when an applied load could cause movement. A continuous phase current value of 30 is used with a scaling factor of x1 (100), providing a direct one-to-one setting when the rated current is entered into a compatible drive. Position verification is provided by an ABR incremental encoder mounted on the rear housing. The encoder returns differential channels that allow the controller to monitor step count and direction during operation.
