The 6PFT50.156B-10B is a compact operator interface that belongs to the 6PFT PLC Modules series from B&R Automation. It combines control processing and visualization in one sealed unit, allowing it to execute local PLC logic while presenting real-time process data on its integrated touchscreen. Mounted directly on machinery or production lines, the device streamlines distributed automation by reducing control cabinet space and minimizing field wiring.
Performance is delivered by an ARM Cortex-A9, quad core CPU clocked at 800 MHz. The platform allocates 2 GB of DDR3 DRAM for variables, buffers, and graphical objects, while a soldered 512 MB flash device retains the application and system software. Its widescreen TFT panel drives images at 1366 × 768 pixels and can reproduce 16 million colors, which helps operators distinguish alarm states and trends more clearly. Projected-capacitive multi-touch sensing supports gesture input through gloves or thin protective films. A USB 2.0 Type-A port with a 0.5 A source current connects service storage devices or barcode readers, and an integrated Ethernet controller provides network connectivity for program download and peer-to-peer communication.
The panel reaches a luminance of 400 cd/m², making information visible under factory lighting. Its active area spans 15.6″ on the diagonal, and the LED backlight is rated for 40,000 hours before half-brightness. The aluminum housing is sealed to IP67, so the module tolerates washdown procedures and airborne dust without additional enclosures. Power and data can be supplied over a single Ethernet cable through the IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) interface, which reduces field wiring. The integrated Ethernet connection supports 10/100 Mbit/s communication for network transfer and device-to-device connectivity.
