Product Description:
The 5PP5CP.US15-02 is a panel-mounted industrial computer and operator interface produced by B&R Automation within the 5PP Power Panels series. It combines real-time control capability with integrated visualization, so a single unit can execute machine logic, display process data, and accept touch or keypad input directly on the production line. Its compact housing is intended for cabinet-door installation where space and wiring must be minimized while maintaining deterministic response for motion, safety, and general automation tasks.
This Power Panel is built on the Intel US15WP chipset and employs an Intel Atom Z530P processor that runs at 1600 MHz. The single processing core works with a 533 MHz system bus, and this external interface moves data between the CPU, memory controller, and peripheral hubs. Graphical output is handled by the integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500, which drives screen content up to a 32-bit color depth and uses up to 256 MB of shared video memory for complex HMI objects. Code execution benefits from 32 kB of L1 cache and a 512 kB L2 cache, while the SSE2, SSE3, and SSSE3 instruction set extensions accelerate floating-point math often used in control algorithms.
The memory controller supports one channel of DDR2 RAM and allows a maximum system capacity of 2 GB, which is adequate for multitasking IEC 61131 programs and historical data buffers. Fabrication on a 45 nm process node reduces power draw so the device can operate without active cooling in sealed enclosures. This architecture favors deterministic behavior by avoiding NUMA and multicore scheduling concerns. The RTC maintains time-stamping accuracy within 12 ppm per day at 25 °C, and the graphics subsystem preserves image fidelity across animated screens.
