Product Description:
The 5PP520.1505-K13 operator panel is produced by B&R Automation within the 5PP Power Panels series. It merges a 15-inch touchscreen, onboard processing, and field interfaces into a compact HMI that installs from the front of a control cabinet. By hosting machine graphics and local parameter entry, it lets operators view alarms and adjust setpoints at the equipment rather than at a remote workstation. This arrangement keeps routine interaction close to the machine and supports direct communication with the PLC or a networked controller.
The display section is a TFT color module that measures 15 in diagonally and renders at 1024 x 768 pixels, giving adequate density for detailed process diagrams and readable menu layouts. A palette of 16 Million colors supports gradient objects and status shading, while a contrast ratio of 700:1 helps maintain legibility in brightly lit enclosures. The front bezel has an IP65 protection rating, so it resists dust ingress and low-pressure water jets when the unit is panel mounted. This combination allows the screen to remain visible and protected in many industrial cabinet-door installations.
All electronics are powered from a single 24 VDC supply, which simplifies integration with standard control-cabinet power rails. Network communication is handled through a Gigabit Ethernet interface rated at 10/100/1000 Mbit/s, and the unit also includes an RS232 serial port for additional device communication. A serial touch controller samples the analog-resistive screen, while three USB host connectors allow connection of service drives or barcode scanners. The touch glass passes backlight energy with a tolerance of 81% ±3%, which helps keep image brightness stable across the panel surface. Overall dimensions of 435 x 330 x 62.7 mm allow installation in medium-size operator stations without taking up excessive panel space.
