The 5PP520.0702-K08 is an integrated human-machine interface panel manufactured by B&R Automation for the 5PP Power Panels series. This unit combines a touchscreen, controller, and communication interfaces so machine builders can mount one device and manage programs locally. In an automation line, the panel serves as the front end for PLC interaction, recipe selection, and status visualization, eliminating the need for a separate industrial PC. Its compact footprint allows installation on swing arms or cabinet doors where space is limited.
The panel accepts control-cabinet power at 24 VDC, which is standard for low-voltage machine wiring. A 7" (177.8 mm) TFT color display provides clear process graphics, and its native resolution of WVGA, 800 × 480 pixels keeps screen elements readable without taxing the onboard processor. The front overlay carries an IP65 rating, so airborne dust or water jets will not reach the electronics when the unit is properly gasketed. User input is captured through an analog, resistive touch layer, enabling operation with gloved hands. For legacy controllers, the Com1 interface offers RS232 signaling, and its maximum data rate of 115 kbit/s supports parameter downloads or diagnostic messages without external converters.
Mechanical depth is only 55 mm, while the frontal width of 212 mm and height of 156 mm simplify flush mounting on light enclosures. Network traffic is handled by one Ethernet port that auto-negotiates at 10/100/1000 Mbit/s, allowing motion, safety, and visualization data to share a common line. Two rear USB receptacles, built to the USB 2.0 standard, let the panel connect to storage devices or HMI peripherals, and the available ports can also support a barcode reader. When panel updates are needed, the serial link stays free for programming because Ethernet and USB handle file transfer.
