Product Description:
The 5PP520.0702-K06 is a Power Panel produced by B&R Automation within the 5PP Power Panels series. It serves as a compact HMI and control node that mounts on the machine front, giving operators direct access to visualization, parameter entry, and basic logic execution in industrial automation systems. By combining the display, touch interface, and integrated computer hardware, the unit reduces cabinet space and wiring while maintaining deterministic communication with upstream controllers. This arrangement also places status information and control access directly at the machine, which helps simplify routine operation on packaging, assembly, and process equipment.
Its 16:9 widescreen display measures 7 in diagonally and renders graphics at 800 x 480 pixels on a TFT color panel illuminated by an LED backlight, giving clear status information under factory lighting. The touch surface accepts finger or gloved input, so it remains practical in applications where operators may not be using bare hands. The enclosure uses a fanless cooling design, which helps keep dust away from the circuitry, and the front surface carries a protection rating of IP65 when installed with a gasket. Networking is handled by one RJ45 connector that supports data rates up to 10/100/1000 Mbit/s, allowing integration into existing Ethernet-based control architectures and OPC UA visualization networks.
The internal computer uses DDR2 SDRAM, and the installed capacity can reach 2 GB, supporting local recipe storage and fast screen changes. Removable media options include one Type I CompactFlash slot, one SD card slot, and two USB 2.0 Type-A host ports for log retrieval or loading application data. A serial link through one RS232 port eases connection to legacy drives, and the panel operates from a nominal supply of 24 VDC, which eliminates the need for internal power conversion. Touch input is handled by an analog resistive sensor that tolerates oily surfaces often found on packaging and assembly equipment.
