Product Description:
The 5PP520.0702-00 operator terminal is produced by B&R Automation for the 5PP Power Panels series. It combines an integrated controller and touchscreen display so a machine can handle visualization, control, and networking tasks from a single unit mounted on the front of an electrical cabinet. Within an automated line, this panel serves as the human-machine interface, allowing operators to start sequences, view alarms, and adjust setpoints while the controller exchanges data with field devices. Because control and display functions are combined, wiring between separate interface and control hardware can be reduced, which helps keep cabinet layouts simpler.
The panel runs from a protected extra-low-voltage supply of 24 VDC, and its nominal load draws 1 A during normal operation. An edge-lit LED backlight illuminates a TFT display with 800 × 480 resolution, giving clear detail for trend curves, status pages, and diagnostic screens. The screen can render 16 million colors, which helps separate icons, warnings, and process graphics on the display. The front surface is rated to IP65, so dust and water jets cannot enter through the bezel during industrial use. A diagonal size of 7 in is paired with analog-resistive touch sensing, allowing reliable input even when gloves are worn.
Data movement is handled by an Ethernet interface that negotiates 10/100/1000 Mbit/s with upper-level networks, while a serial COM1 port supports machine-side devices at 115 kbit/s. The network port supports plant communication, and the serial connection remains useful for equipment that relies on point-to-point data exchange. Two USB host connectors allow program backup and peripheral connection, and internal storage can be expanded up to 2 GB for recipes and logs. Total power usage peaks at 24 W, with an uninterruptible buffer of 10 ms that helps prevent brownout resets. The aluminum housing measures 212 × 156 × 55 mm and weighs 1200 g, which supports direct mounting on door plates or swing arms without taking much space inside the enclosure.
