Product Description:
The 5PP320.1043-K12 is an operator interface unit produced by B&R Automation and belongs to the 5PP Power Panels series. Designed as a panel-mounted controller, it combines visualization and control functions for industrial machines, allowing process monitoring, direct touch input, and local operation from the front of an enclosure. It is intended for applications where machine logic and operator visualization need to stay in one compact front-mounted unit. In an automation line, the panel can replace separate PCs and HMIs by integrating computing resources with a rugged display, so commands and status information remain available at the machine.
The front surface has an IP65 protection rating, helping keep dust and water jets away from the screen while the rear remains inside a cabinet. All electronics operate from a single 24 VDC supply, which simplifies power distribution. The 10.4 in display uses a Color TFT matrix with native VGA resolution to present clear operating graphics. System memory includes 64 MB of SDRAM for the operating system and application code, and a 256 KB SRAM block preserves retentive data during shutdown. The metal housing conducts heat away from the electronics, so internal fans are not required.
Networking is handled by an Ethernet controller rated at 10/100 Mbps for plant communication, and an RS232 channel supports legacy serial devices. This mix of interfaces supports both modern network links and older peripheral connections without external converters. Input is registered through a Resistive touch layer that can respond to gloved fingers, which is useful on factory equipment. Two USB-A sockets provide 2 connection points for portable storage or service peripherals. Nonvolatile storage is provided through a CompactFlash Type I slot, and an onboard battery supports the real-time clock. A single APCI slot accepts a fieldbus card, allowing the panel to add limited control functions when needed.
