The 5PP320.0571-K05 operator panel is produced by B&R Automation within the 5PP Power Panels series. The device combines an embedded controller and a color touchscreen interface, enabling on-machine visualization and sequence control from a single unit. In production cells, it replaces separate PLC and HMI hardware, which helps simplify wiring and cabinet layout while giving operators direct access to process status and alarms. This arrangement is useful on compact machines where local control and display functions need to stay close to the equipment.
Processing power is supplied by a Geode LX800 CPU clocked at 500 MHz, supported by 256 MB SDRAM and cache memory that helps the panel handle repetitive control tasks smoothly. Application code and recipes are stored in onboard flash memory, and a Type I CompactFlash slot allows removable media for larger projects or data logging. Graphics are shown on a 5.7 in TFT color display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, providing a clear format for status pages, menus, and alarm lists. The panel operates from 24 VDC, and an RS232 serial port is available for connecting legacy peripherals such as drives or barcode scanners.
The aluminum front carries an IP65 rating when gasket-mounted, so it can be used in dusty areas or in locations exposed to splash. Network integration is handled through an Ethernet interface with 10/100 Mbit/s transfer capability, allowing communication with plant networks and higher-level control systems.
